General

A blank sheet is the starting point for a design job. A design emerges as a result of study, creativity and experience. The dialogue with client and users always steers the designing process. The complex and comprehensive rules and regulations in the Netherlands put constraints on some of the projects. The trick then is to look at these rules from a different angle and solve this challenging puzzle.

In many instances, sharing knowledge and information is determinative for a good start of the project as well as for the further course of events. Creativity, courage and common sense are important qualities if you want to get things off the ground.

The various activities carried out by me are as follows:

  • designs for private gardens
  • landscape designs
  • rough sketches for spatial planning
  • improvement of the living environment
  • supporting landscape gardeners in designing and work preparation
  • making site layout plans for nursing and care homes
  • land (re-)use plans for urban expansion and for villages and town quarters
  • industrial design
  • planning and mental modelling (the formation of new ideas), including landscape analysis
  • project development, including making operating budgets
  • working out plan designs, both technical drawings such as RAW construction documents and/or as a supplement to STABU specifications
